Modelling for Coast 2026 (Mod4Coast 2026) is an international conference that aims to provide a scientific forum focused on hydrodynamic modelling, water quality, and coastal processes. The event is designed to foster the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and methodologies among researchers, professionals, and institutions working in the fields of coastal dynamics and marine ecosystems.
Coastal zones have gained increasing attention in recent years due to the impacts of climate change, growing anthropogenic pressure, and the need for sustainable coastal management. In this context, hydrodynamic modelling has become an essential tool for understanding and predicting physical and biogeochemical processes in marine and coastal environments, including ocean circulation, sediment transport, water quality, and coastal morphodynamics.
Mod4Coast 2026 seeks to encourage interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration across coastal engineering, oceanography, ecology, and data science, while also providing a valuable learning and networking space for early-career researchers.
The conference is primarily intended for users of the Delft3D modelling suite, offering a dedicated platform to share practical applications, model developments, case studies, and best practices related to Delft3D-based simulations. Nevertheless, contributions employing complementary numerical models and methodologies relevant to coastal and marine modelling are also welcome, fostering broader scientific exchange within the modelling community.
